Custom Jeep lift, cheap

Nicely done. :-)
Great lift! This is even simpler than what I had in mind. I will be copying soon. Thanks!
Great video. Just what I was looking for! Thank you.
that hack saw blade seemed really blunt lol, nice video tho
Could you have used bike hooks?
way overthinking it. Four ratchet straps and four O rings screwed into studs in the ceiling of the garage and you are golden. Took me less than twenty minutes and I have been doing it this way for years…..never had a problem. More complex does not always equate to more efficient or effective. Certainly took much more of your time and my time is my most valuable asset. I can go from fully covered to free as a bird in under ten minutes all by myself.
Dude, you really need a grinder and a cheap welder from Harbor Freight! But what can I expect from a J##per?! Just kidding, much respect – I enjoy wheeling with you guys. Pete (IH Scout)
is your jeep lifted? also what wheels and tires you have on it
Very Nice idea. Thanks for the video.
I really appreciate the effort put into this, and also built my own, but I've finally found the best solution; permanent soft top.
You are out of your mind but it was successful hahah
great day to lift!
We're not into safety…..LMAO Got to protect the jeep though. Great video, I think I'm going to build a similar hoist.
It's funny, you can see the improvement in ideas as well as video quality as it goes. Great ideas. Great process documentation. I appreciate your work.
OR, Just buy a hoist a top tm from Lange Originals and save yourself two Saturdays worth of fiddling.
The brake winch was a GREAT idea. I didn't want to go the route of the ratchet straps. Too time consuming and tedious. I'm going design my hoist starting with that. Thanks.-Fellow Texan
best one ive seen so far but, four cables 4 me
"It a cold February morning here in Texas but it a great day to lift." (11:24)WHAT?
Nice job, and thanks for sharing! I've been kicking around a couple off different ideas for my JK Unlimited hard top lift, as well.
Thanks Vvajk. Seems like I saw a video a few years ago of someone using their bumper winch as a hoist for hardtop. Keep thinking and you will hopefully get it engineered.
I also have the Thule rack. Wondering how it is holding up to the weight any issues?
I forgot to mention that the hooks that are on the jeep top are from my thule rack for my skis. I'm sure you guys could figure out something similar..
